Retiring Ferndale City Manager Jay Parrish honored by city, community

He previously served as mayor and city councilmember in Rio Dell. In a packed city hall ceremony, former mayors, newspaper publishers, city staff, relatives, community leaders and friends shared stories about Parrish and his accomplishments and enjoined Parrish to stay connected as a friend " and even a volunteer with the city. Ferndale Mayor Randy Cady presented Parrish with a key to the city and read a proclamation celebrating his 19 years of service that was passed into record unanimously by the Ferndale City Council. Eureka council to cement regulation of tobacco and nitrous oxide sales

Local governments have barred the sale of nitrous oxide, also known as whippets or laughing gas, in an effort to mitigate negative public health effects of the illicit drug. Eureka is set to officially adopt an ordinance making it unlawful for "any person in the city, with exceptions, to sell or attempt to sell, offer, distribute or provide nitrous oxide to any person," in a Tuesday meeting. The council unanimously approved the ordinance in October. Sales are currently barred in Arcata, Rio Dell and unincorporated Humboldt County. But Trump was on the ballot. His poor job ratings hung like an albatross around GOP candidates' necks. Trump had failed on promised lower prices and unemployment had increased among other negative results. The ongoing actions of ICE also cost the GOP votes, especially among some minorities. But American voters saw Trump for what he was: a president who puts himself first over the needs of the general public. They knew by electing GOP candidates, they would just be further supporting Trump's misguided regime, so they voted Democrat. Now the question becomes, can Trump find a way to redeem himself, or will his actions continue to leave him in the doghouse, resulting in even more losses…...
