European football quiz: Complete the line-ups from these classic games

39+ min ago (459+ words) The Champions League returns this week with all six Premier League teams in action. There are repeats of some classic European match-ups too, including Chelsea against Barcelona and Arsenal versus Bayern Munich. So to mark the occasion, we're testing your knowledge with six different quizzes. Good luck! BBC may not be in 'safe hands' under its chair, says committee head

50+ min ago (836+ words) The head of the culture select committee has questioned whether the BBC board is in "safe hands" under its chair Samir Shah, describing his evidence to MPs on Monday as "wishy-washy". Shah appeared in front of the Commons committee after a turbulent period for the BBC, which has seen its director general and head of news resign after claims of impartiality in its reporting. Speaking to the BBC's World Tonight after the hearing, Dame Caroline Dinenage, the most senior MP on the committee, said she was concerned about a lack of "grip at the heart of BBC governance". Shah told the Commons committee he would not walk away from the job, saying he would "steady the ship" and "fix it". Shah and other senior BBC figures were summoned to give evidence about how the corporation is addressing concerns raised about…...

Trump moves to sanction some Muslim Brotherhood chapters

1+ hour, 40+ min ago (449+ words) US President Donald Trump has ordered officials to examine whether to designate some chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorists groups, a move that would target the group with economic and travel sanctions. His executive order on Monday calls for his top aides to produce a report investigating whether the branches in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan should be listed as foreign terrorist organisations and specially designated global terrorists. The order cites the groups' alleged ties to Hamas, and "destabilization campaigns that harm their own regions, United States citizens, and United States interests". The Muslim Brotherhood, founded almost 100 years ago, is banned in Jordan and Egypt. The executive order directs US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to consult Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and to produce a report within 30 days....
